Embodied Materialis a reading group and exhibition facilitated by Sophia Munic in partnership with Fresh Eye Gallery.
Over the course of 6 weeks, artists came together to read an assortment of interviews and essays that explore the cross-section between queer and textile theory. Together the cohort dissected complicated ideas, examining what inspires, confuses, and stirs.
Each participating artist will exhibit new work informed by these readings and conversations, materializing the inherent queerness of textiles & collectivize the craft of shared knowledge outside of academic institutions.
The exhibition opening reception at Fresh Eye Gallery is on June 23rd from 6-8 pm. All are welcome!
Opening Reception: Friday, June 23, 6 - 8 PM Exhibition Dates: June 22 - July 29
